Silesia City Center is a shopping mall and office complex located in the heart of Katowice, Poland. It was built on the site of a former coal mine called "Katowice" which operated from the mid-19th century until the 1990s. The idea to construct a modern shopping center on this historic site was first proposed in the early 2000s, and the construction began in 2006. SDS carried out the design of post-tensioned concrete beams throughout the structure.
